Selectmen's Minutes 12/02/08
The weekly meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Tuesday evening, December 2, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.

Present:        David L. Walsh, Chairman; Peter A. Hamilton, Clerk; Theresa McNulty
                Catherine Johnson, Administrative Assistant


Christmas Parade Committee Chairman Bob Packer was present to update the Board on the upcoming Christmas Parade.

Departmental Updates

Historical Commission Chairman Maryann Roan was present to update the Board on the events and accomplishments of the Commission for the year.

David Floeck, Jackie Rose and Joe Floeck of the Recreation Commission were present to update the Board on the events and accomplishments of the Commission for the year.

Cameron Woodard, Alan Hiltz, Caryl Guarino, Larry Allen and Katie Cavanaugh of the Agricultural Commission were present to update the Board on the events and accomplishments of the Commission for the year.

Joseph Miksch of the Council on Aging was present to update the Board on the events and accomplishments of the Council.

Dominic D’Angelo of the Senior Center Building Committee was present to update the Board on the events and accomplishments of the Committee.

Action Item

M/Hamilton, s/McNulty, a unanimous vote, approve the minutes of the November 18, 2008 meeting.

Town Administrator Report

Mr. Samia read a statement on behalf of the Treasurer relative to the posting of a Notice of Tax Taking in the newspaper.

Thursday, January 1, 2008 – Town Hall Closed

Saturday, December 6, 2008 – E.B. Recreation Commission Christmas Parade/ Kiwanis Club Annual Christmas on the Common Celebration – Step-off @ 11:00 a.m.


No Parking Ban- E.B.P.D. issued from November 15th – April 15th, due to inclement weather, no parking on any sides of street during this time.  Cars may be ticketed or towed during snow emergencies.

M/Hamilton, s/McNulty, move to close Open Session and go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing contract negotiations and personnel matters and will not be returning to Open Session.

VOTE: Yes – Walsh, Hamilton, McNulty; a unanimous vote in favor.

Open Session adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
